Hi there, I am using the Tower theme and when I check my site using the SEO audit from SEMRUSH it says that my pages don’t have any H1 headings. I thought that WordPress automatically made your page title an h1 heading?
Thanks

Hello,
Tower theme does use
H1
tags. You can check them out yourself via inspect element or just check the Visual Composer elements settings. Also you can see the page headers used for the demo pages, that are set asH1
titles.
We did not test this SEO tool, but the theme is SEO ready so you do not have to worry.

Hi Mihaila, thanks for your reply. I don’t think I explained myself properly though. If you look at the screenshot in the link below, I have made the blue text h2 and h3 tags and not h1 because I thought that wordpress automatically made your page name (see second link) an h1 tag? And if you look at last link then you will see that my pages are not seen as having the h1 tag.

If you have a quick read of this, I think this is the same problem I am having

Hello,
As i said previously, the page’s titles by default are set as
H1
. Please see screenshot. If you have changed that and set it voluntary asH2
or else, then wordpress would not change it back to theH1
.
Can i please see a link where are you having this?

Hi Mihaila, if you look at this page for example you will see it has no H1. I’ve not changed any settings so not sure why it wouldn’t be making the page titles H1 if thats the default.

Hello,
What i see in your “About Us” page is the content of the page. Not the page title, the one that is set automatically as H1. Please see your page’s screenshot, and the Tower demo screenshot.
Marked in red are the elements that are present in both sites, and in orange the header page that i am referring to, that you do not have in your page.Let us know.
Best regards!

Ah ok, I understand whats happening now. Because I have chosen to not have a page header on any of my pages then no h1’s are automatically showing. Do you know if there is any code that I could insert that would show my page names as H1 automatically without needing to have the page header activated.

Hello,
Please let me explain once again the structure of your page. The default page title “About Us” is not set to display, by your choice. By default it does display for all pages.
The titles you are using are just text. And therefore it is you who have set it to H2.
Please see these screenshots of your About Us page.
screenshot 1
screenshot 2So basically you are not using the wordpress default page header, which is set as H1, but a simple text that you have set the first line to be a H2.
I created this sample page: https://staging.shades-blinds.co.uk/page-header-example/ Please see here the default page title as it should be.Best regards!
