Hi Y’all,
I’m using Specular and when creating Text Blocks using Visual Composer, my content is erased upon saving. The Text Block element is not erased, but my content is replaced with the generic “I am a text block…” text.
I’ve tried the Frontend, Backend and the classic WordPress editor. I’ve also tried using HTML and each time this is the result. Any advice on this?

Hello,
Sorry for the late reply.
What theme version are you running? What Visual Composer version? Please make sure to have the latest versions (Specular vs 2.3.3 and VC vs 5.0.1)
Let us know if the issue persists.Best regards!

Hi Mihaila,
Thanks for your reply. You mentioned Specular 2.3.3, however I have not been able to find Specular 2.3.3 online nor am I able to find an update for it available in WordPress. Am I missing something?
I am running Visual Composer version 5.0, because updating involves purchasing a license for Visual Composer.

Hello,
You can download the very latest theme version from your Envato account > Downloads. just like you downloaded it the first time. The copy that will download will always be the latest version we have uploaded.
As for the Visual Composer, there is no need to update on your own. Just make sure to have installed only the included in theme copy. We frequently update it.
Read this article to understand how to do it: https://support.codeless.co/?ht_kb=visual-composer-updateLet us know.

Hi Mihaila,
Thanks a lot for your reply and keeping up with this. I downloaded the newest version of Specular and Visual Composer just like I did the first time, but I’m still experiencing this same issue. After saving a page once or twice, the text I insert into the text block is erased and replaced with the generic “I am a text block…” text. Do you know of any other fixes for this?

Hello,
Since you have the wordpress and theme updated then an error related to them is excluded. You will have to check the server. There can be some causes for the wordpress not to save changes. You may not have enough access rights to files or database. The presence of a corrupted file can cause this. Some corrupted table in your database. You will need to optimize database tables. Contact your host regarding the above.
Another cause could be one of the installed plugins causing conflict; Deactivate all your third party plugins and see if the issue persists;Let us know.
Best regards!

Hi Mihalia,
Thanks for keeping up with this. It seems to be an issue with the Frontend Editor saving, but the Backend Editor saves fine so I’m using that.
Cheers!
