Hello Again,
I have recently purchased Specular. I have never been more disappointed with a template when trying to install the dummy data. Usually I would just download and install it myself. I understand how simple your system would be if it worked, but, and it’s not just me, IT DOESN’T. There are several people who have had this same problem for almost two years now. You should really take a deeper look into this. If there are problems just simply installing the dummy data, who knows what other kinds of problems there are with the template. I am now three days behind because I am forced to wait on this silly problem. Very aggravating, especially in light of the fact that it is the same problem people have been having for a while.
Anyways, I need it fixed or I need my money back and I can find a template that will work.
I am trying to install Minimal. I have followed the video instructions, maxed out my memory limit and execution time, redownloaded the files, installed and reinstalled it in several ways, and copied the exported information given in the online editor. I have thought about reinstalling WP and the theme all over again but I am not sure this would change a thing.
I have no idea what else I can do.
Please help.

Hello,
We are sorry to have caused such inconvenience, but please know that this is not a two years old issue. The topics you replied has a very different issue and theme is definitely not the same as many important updates have been taking place ever since.
We have many satisfied customers using the same theme. We would want you to be one of them as well so please let us know what have you been trying to do at first place.
I already advised to get the last theme update, which is vs 2.3.
Please make sure to have all needed requirements for a successful import. Read this article: https://support.codeless.co/?ht_kb=import-of-dummy-data-stops-before-100 then let us know how it is going.If the issue persists, fill in the necessary information on your extra information fields of your profile data. WordPress and ftp too. So we can give it a closer look.
Read this article for more information.
Best regards!

I have downloaded the most recent theme. I also read the link you sent. Notice: I already did those things which are in the article.
Can’t you just give me the XML file? It would be a whole lot easier.

This is from my php.ini file:
max_execution_time = 30
max_input_time = 60
memory_limit = 256M

Hello,
I have tried too many times to access your website but isn’t possible.
Please can you send to me the correct site address.
If you have updated the theme to version 2.3, there is only one thing that can cause the dummy data installation issue. Please try to disable visual composer before installing dummy data. Go to wp-content/plugins and rename js_composer folder to js_composer_old. Now try to install dummy data again. After dummy data installation is completed, Go to Appearances > Plugins and install again Visual Composer.
Let us know if this method will help you.
Regards!

Ruco! Thank you. Data imported successfully. However, not everything is identical to the demo…

Ruco,
I noticed that not everything was the same between the demo and the demo install, and also that there was a new version (2.3.1), so I reinstalled the new version and tried to install the dummy data. There are some problems that I cannot figure out:
1. The header/footer options will no longer load the way they should.
2. When you click import it sometimes loads more than 100% (280%, 400%, etc.)
3. The template layout is not how it is shown in the demo.
4. Basically it is not importing the options from the demo version correctly.
Here is my site: https://aaatents.cocollala.site
Here is the demo: https://codeless.co/specular/minimal/
I have redone everything multiple times (installed WP, created new SQL databases, installed the template, turned off the visual editor, registered Envato Tool Kit, deactivated my plugins, etc.) nothing is working. I am very irritated with the way this template loads the demo data. It never seems to fully work. Very glitchy; very annoying. I am to the point where I will have to go setting by setting to mimic the demo, just so I can start actually working on my site (this is a grueling task). I don’t know what else I can do. One thing is for sure, I will never be buying templates from codeless again. I seriously don’t have time to be messing with this kind of thing. I know it’s not your fault, in fact, I appreciate how you have already helped me, but I am very displeased with the functionality of this template. Very.
If you can, please help.

I am giving up on this. Even when I try to simply import just the options, nothing changes.
I will delete all the files I downloaded and you can revoke my ability to download them in the envatomarket. I want a full refund so I can find something that will work. At this rate I could have finished putting in all my content and had my site live.

Hello,
You do not need to import demo data every time there is a theme update. Theme updates include only theme files. We make changes, improve or add new features, but this does not affect the content.
The content (options, pages, posts..etc) are stored in the database. Even after you change the dummy data to your own content, you would need to take theme updates all the time. This does not mean you would need to redo the work from scratch.Importing dummy data does load all the content in your server, but you need to make a few configurations after. The video tutorials help you understand how theme works.
I understand you frustration but please know that this is a very complex theme. It has many functionalities and it can’t be learned in one glance.
This is why you need to read theme’s documentation first and watch the video tutorials. You can really do amazing work with it.From what i see in your site right now, the first thing you need to do is go to General Options and assign a home page and a blog page.
If you want, send us the login details in a private reply (or fill in your profile data) and i can configure the site just like the demo.
I will also write down all the performed changes for you to have the most clear view of all changes made.Read this article for more information.
Please do not give up just yet. You will have a unique site with our theme. I can guarantee that!
Let us know for anything.
Best regards!

Hello,
I am editing the site now. I will let you know once it’s finished.

-
Hello,
You may continue editing the site with your content. The site is like the minimal demo now.
I change the home page to the page used in the demo. I changed the main color and the buttons type in General Options > Styling Options.
I change the menu style from Simple to Centered Logo and Navigation, in General Options > Header Options.
I changed footer to one column in Footer Options and added the already imported widgets in Appearance > Widgets.Let us know if you want to change anything else.
Best regards!

Thank you Mihaila!
One question, do you know why everything is shifted to the left on the mobile version?
-
Hello,
From what i see not every thing is aligned left in mobile (screenshot). All but only the footer content. To change this please go to file css/bootstrap-responsive.css and find these lines:
footer#footer .inner .row-fluid.ff .span12:first-child:last-child{ margin-left:-210px !important; }
Remove margin or replace it with:
/* margin-left: -210px !important;*/
Let us know.Merry Christmas!

Thank you. I noticed that the other content loaded right after I refreshed.
Another problem that I am not understanding. The contact form is not working. I am using the Contact Form 7 plugin but the CSS does not appear the same as in the demo. I have made a child theme and tried mimic the demo CSS but nothing happens.
Here is what it looks like:

Hello,
Sorry for the alte reply.
I don’t see many differences from the demo. What you have is a fullwidth layout site, while the online demo is boxed. You can change it in General Options > Layout > Overall site layout.Also i added some margin to the custom heading in contact page, to make it like the demo. Check it in the element’s options > Design Options. See screenshot.
Let us know what other can we help you with.
Regards and Merry Christmas!

I found what it was:
.woocommerce #review_form #respond textarea, .woocommerce-page #review_form #respond textarea, .side-nav, .wpcf7-form-control-wrap input, .wpcf7-form-control-wrap textarea, .select2-drop-active, .woocommerce .woocommerce-ordering, .woocommerce-page .woocommerce-ordering, .woocommerce .woocommerce-error, .woocommerce .woocommerce-info, .woocommerce .woocommerce-message, .woocommerce-page .woocommerce-error, .woocommerce-page .woocommerce-info, .woocommerce-page .woocommerce-message, #mc_signup_form .mc_input{
border: 1px solid transparent !important;
}
These two fields were set to transparent for some reason.
Thank you for your help wit the headings.
Michael

Hello,
The input set in these fields is not transparent. And the css above only sets the border as transparent. If you want to set a color to the fields border, then just edit the css above. Add a color to it and add the code into your custom css box.
Please remember that custom styling is not included in support service. Read more about it in our Support policy.Best regards!
