Hey all,
I’ve got an issue on the site: https://www.liipfertlaw.com/about-us/#partners
The email icon links would only link as if they were web pages with https:// placed in front of the email address. I found a work-around by typing each email address in the field as “mailto:[email protected]”, but obviously this isn’t something that’s going to be easy for my client to deal with. Is there a way to correct this issue so emails can be entered as “[email protected]” instead and still function?
Thanks!

Hello,
Yes it is possible, you have to edit the file tower/vc_templates/staff.php and edit the line:
if($cl_redata['mail_link']!= '') $output .= '<a href="'.esc_url($cl_redata['mail_link']).'" class="a1" data-animate="fadeInUp" title="mail"><i class="moon-mail"></i></a>'; $output .= '</div>';
and replace:
if($cl_redata['mail_link']!= '') $output .= '<a href="mailto:'.esc_url($cl_redata['mail_link']).'" class="a1" data-animate="fadeInUp" title="mail"><i class="moon-mail"></i></a>'; $output .= '</div>';
Save the file.
Let us know.

Hey Ruco, that works great for adding the mailto: ahead of it, however the addresses are being outputted with an https:// in front of them now between the “mailto:” and “[email protected]” parts of the address. Any idea how to fix that?

Hello,
I don’t see the
https
before the email. See screenshot: https://ibb.co/r0Z4FkS
Did you manage to fix it?
Let us know if you need further help.best regards!

Hello,
Actually this is not a “sort of band-aid” but the actual thing! You have to add the
mailto:
before the email either be this in the code or directly before the email address. For other socials as well, such as in social media, again this has to be added before the email address.However what was adding the
https
was theesc_url()
function. I removed it and now you can continue adding only the email address in your staff. Without themailto
. I made a demonstration to the Bailey Liipfert staff member.Let us know.
Best regards!
