Hi there,
I’ve been experiencing issues with WPBakery (Visual Composer) lately on my website. It seems that every time I try to publish a page or a post using the plugin, it makes the front end of the site break – the connection times out and I cannot view the front end anymore. I’ve narrowed the issue down to WP Bakery because the issue only appears when the plugin is activated, and the issue only seems to occur when Specular Theme is activated as well (I’ve tested by switching the site over to WordPress’ theme and the issue is no longer there).
We’ve restored the website to a backup, but of course this isn’t ideal since we can’t make any content changes to the website without crashing it again. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi there,
We’ve done a bit more digging and it seems to be the Testimonial Carousel VC element that is causing the issue. We’ve removed them from the blog post we were using and the site seems to be working fine now. I suppose at this point I’m just wondering if this issue will be resolved in an upcoming theme release.
Thanks.

Hello,
This is interesting.
We have just finished a theme update that will be soon uploaded online and did not encounter such problem.
Can you please add some wp credentials in your profile data? So we can give it a closer look.
Read this article for more information.
If this is an issue, ofcourse it will be fixed in the upcomming update.Best regards!

Hi Mihaila,
I’ve added WP Credentials in my profile data. You should be able to access the back end of the website now. The issue seems to be in the “First ever Ottawa Food Security Conference well received” post. The Testimonial Carousel VC Element breaks the front end of the website. If we remove it from the blog post, the front end of the website starts to display properly again.
Thanks.

Hello,
We tested this and there is no compatibility issue of theme with Visual Composer’s latest version!
The posts (portfolio items as well) are not designed to use Visual Composer elements. That’s why you are having issues.
Please use the VC in pages only. We will add this feature in later versions of theme.Best regards!

Hi Mihaila,
Thanks for the update.
I guess I’m just surprised – we’ve used Visual Composer on posts before to add photos and to lay out the post in rows/columns, and this is the first issue we’ve run into.
Do you happen to know if there are any VC elements that we should be avoiding? Other than the testimonial carousel of course.

Hello,
You can use testimonials in pages. We checked and there is no problem with that.
Since the posts are not designed to use Visual Composer, we can’t be precise if there is any particular element not working in it.
Please use the default theme settings.
Let us know.Best regards!

Hi Mihaila,
Thanks for the update. We’ll avoid using VC in posts.
Just to confirm, though – will Visual Composer be usable in posts in an upcoming update?

Hello,
Sorry, not yet.
But i have notified the developers and it’s on our to-do list for future theme updates.Best regards!
