<div style=”color: #000000; font-family: -webkit-standard; text-size-adjust: auto;”>Hello, I am currently having an issue with a particular plug in. The problem seems to be the following…
Specular is using the Select 2 js library that is pretty old (version 3.5.2). Many plugin are using the same library but a newer version 4.0.5.<span class=”Apple-converted-space”> </span>Both versions can’t work together for some reason. Can you please let me know how or when this library can be updated to avoid conflicts?</div>

Hello,
What plugin are you using that has incorporated the later version? Are you having any actual issue with it other than seeing the warning message?
Let us know.Best regards!

Not seeing a warning. However, when I turn on Custom Post template plugin from OTW Themes, the WP Bakery Backend editor will not show. Even though it is set to show in Roles Manager. When I deactivate plugin, it appears. I reached out to OTW to see if it was a problem on their end. They determined it is the version of the Select2 library you are using. They said it was old.

Hello,
This is strange because the Visual Composer does not have any issue with the version of Select2 library used in theme!
What version of the plugin are you using? Are you in parent theme or child theme? You can try removing the select2 library by de-enqueueing it from the list of used scripts. Go to file functions.php, comment out this line:
wp_enqueue_script('select2');
Please keep in mind that we do not offer support on third party plugins.
Best regards!

We are using the latest version of the plugin. We are in a parent theme.
By commenting this script out will it impact functionality on your theme or any of your included plugins, like Revoluton slider and WP Bakery Page builder?

I tried commenting it out but it did’t work. In fact, i was unable to click on Visual view in editor.

Hello,
I just tested it and commenting out the select2.js file does not cause any issue to Visual Composer or switching between text/visual in the editor. See screenshot: https://postimg.cc/image/ipvgue0hz/
Best regards!
