I’ve been having trouble with my Twitter Wigdet. Although my settings for the Specular Twitter Widget is set to not show post time it still does. In addition, I’m asking it to show my Twitter avatar but it will not display either. Here is what it looks like currently:

Is there a fix for this or is this what it will always look like on my site?

Hi guys, is there any fix or help for this topic?? Thanks//Rasha

Hello,
Sorry for the late reply.
Please go to file specular\includes\widgets\codeless_twitter.php and find these lines:foreach ($tweets as $message){ $output .='<li><dl class="dl-horizontal"><dt><i class="moon-twitter"></i></dt><dd>'; $output .= '<span class="message">'.$message['text'].'</span>'; $output .= '<span class="date">'.date_i18n( $time_format, $message['created'] + $message['user']['utc_offset']).'</span>'; $output .= '</dd></dl></li>'; }
And replace them with this:
foreach ($tweets as $message){ $output .='<li><dl class="dl-horizontal"><dt><img src="'.$message['user']['image'].'"></img><i class="moon-twitter"></i></dt><dd>'; $output .= '<span class="message">'.$message['text'].'</span>'; $output .= '</dd></dl></li>'; }
Save and refresh page.
We will edit this in the next update.Best regards!

Mihaila,
thank you so much for your assist. One follow-up question: so if I set the widget to show avatar, my website will display my twitter avatar. And if I set the widget to NOT show avatar: will it then display the twitter logo?
Is this something that we can control? I would love to have the ability to show avatar on one page and twitter logo on the other page.. Is this possible? Thanks//Rasha

Hello,
“And if I set the widget to NOT show avatar: will it then display the twitter logo?”
Sorry but that is not possible for now. If you do the edits above only the avatar will be shown. We will fix this in the next update.
“I would love to have the ability to show avatar on one page and twitter logo on the other page.. Is this possible?”
This is not possible if you will be displaying the same widget is different pages. So if you set up footer twitter with avatar, it is not possible to have the same widget display avatar in one page and twitter icon in another.Best regards!

Mihaila,
Again, thanks for your efforts. So, if I wanted to show the titter icon and no post time for my latest tweets…what would I need to do? Change the code on the <span style=”color: #393d40; font-family: ‘Open Sans’, ‘Helvetica Neue’, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px;”>specular\includes\widgets\codeless_twitter.php page again? If so, what do I need to change it to??</span>
Thanks//Rasha

Hello,
Yes, you have to change it back.
**I am assuming you did not do the above changes. In the same file, in these lines:foreach ($tweets as $message){ $output .='<li><dl class="dl-horizontal"><dt><i class="moon-twitter"></i></dt><dd>'; $output .= '<span class="message">'.$message['text'].'</span>'; $output .= '<span class="date">'.date_i18n( $time_format, $message['created'] + $message['user']['utc_offset']).'</span>'; $output .= '</dd></dl></li>'; }
Remove this line:
$output .= '<span class="date">'.date_i18n( $time_format, $message['created'] + $message['user']['utc_offset']).'</span>';
Save file. That will remove only the date and not change the icon to avatar.Best regards!

Hi Mihaila,

I tried to use the same process as you showed before and then it started to look like this. Is there a fix?
Thanks//Rasha

Hello,
It could be that some of your previous custom edits are interfering with the new style.
Please add this code into your custom css box:ul.tweet_list { list-style: none; font-size: 13px; line-height: 20px; }
Let us know.
Best regards!

Yes, that did work to a certain point. Is there a way to have some space between the tweets? Right now they are right on top of each other. I know I’m a pain but I just want it to look right. Thanks//Rasha

Hello,
I see, please add this code too:
.widget_twitter dl dd { padding-bottom: 12px; }
It will look like this, screenshot.
Best regards!
