Hello,
I am using Specular as theme for my website and currently working on translating the page to second language. I use WPML as translation plugin, but i have set up the pages manually. Now the problem is on the second language, this page use a blog page template automatically and i cannot find a solution on how to change it. For the main language i have used a full width page template and that is what i want to use.
Link to main language page which is correct: https://www.rivalboats.com/fi/jalleenmyyjat/
Link to secondary language page which is incorrect: https://www.rivalboats.com/sv/aterforsaljare/
As you can see from the secondary language the page does not use full width, on the sides there is a meny arrow and on the bottom of the page there is a comment field. Any suggestions on how to get a fullwidth page and remove these as in the main language?
Best regards,
Mikael

Hello,
This happens because the site can only have one blog page and that is the main language blog page. So the blog layout is assigned to it. To make the translated blog page in the same layout, please try adding this code into your Custom Css box in General Options:
.page-id-1128.full-width-content .span_12 { width: 1583px !important; float: left; margin-left: -22% !important; } .page-id-1128 #comments { display: none !important; } .page-id-1128 .blog-article.standard-style .content h1 { display: none; } .page-id-1128 .single .blog-article.standard-style { margin-top: -85px !important; }
Let us know.
Best regards!

Hi,
It removes comments and header, but still the meny arrow for previous page is on the side and it is not full width. Also, empty space is left between header and the content (map). This does not seem to be the best solution..

Hello,
From the code above, remove this part:
.page-id-1128
Also remove the entire code from your Custom Css box in General Options, and add it instead in the page’s Custom Css box.
If you need help, send us some valid wp credential in a private reply. So i can set this up for you.Best regards!

Hello,
I added the css in the page’s custom css and included the changes to remove the arrow and decrease the distance between header and content. See screenshot:

Please clear cache and refresh page.Best regards!

Hi,
This looks good on a computer screen, but on a tablet or a phone, the map is too wide.

Hello,
I edited it. Please clear cache and refresh page.

Hi,
Unfortunately still not working correctly. On desktop there is extra space on the right side if you scroll. In tablet or mobile phone view it is not full width. Is there any way you could force the correct template, which the main language uses? It works so well on that language.
-
Hello,
Sorry but that is not possible.
Can you send us some screenshots of the page on your side? I checked again and it looks great from my computer.
What dimensions is your screen?
Let us know.Best regards!

Hello,
I edited the css and this is how the site looks from an actual ipad (portrait and landscape): https://postimg.org/gallery/1z42pq3co/
I checked it from Firefox and Safari as well. it looks great in all browsers.
Please clear cache and refresh page.You need to update Visual Composer. The latest theme version is 2.6.1 and Visual Composer 5.4.5. I see you have the latest theme but the VC has not been updated. Please read this article on how to update it: https://support.codeless.co/?ht_kb=visual-composer-update
This is very important otherwise some major functionalities will not work correct.
Let us know.Best regards!

Hi,
In firefox it seems to be working quite ok, but in chrome and safari it looks good when you open the page, but you can still scroll to the right. Also, the same problem on tablet and mobile phone, it looks good when the page is opened, but you can still scroll to the right. The map seems to be the problem, it is too wide.
I added photos in the same dropbox folder as mentioned earlier with how it looks.
I updated the Visual Composer plugin, I was not aware of the procedure, thanks!

Hello,
I added this css into your Custom Css box in General Options:
.viewport { overflow-x: hidden !important; }
This should fix the left-right swiping. Please check and let me know.
Best regards!

Hello,
Sorry for late reply, have been busy with other work lately. But still not working as i want it to. On a bigger monitor, there is still white space in the left and the right columns. Also, on mobile view the map does not center where the points marked are. Added screenshot in the same dropbox folder as earlier.
The next issue is the on another page, there are the same issues with the arrows on the side and the comment section below. Also, I want menus on the left side as in the main language. Added screenshot on that as well. And following links to those pages:
Primary language:
https://www.rivalboats.com/fi/mallisto/
Secondary language:
https://www.rivalboats.com/sv/modeller/

Hello,
This is the look of your site in mobile: https://postimg.cc/image/64fuj89yv/ The distance left-right is a normal distance to differ the content area. Do you not want this? Do you want it full-width?
I removed the arrows altogether for the entire site. I just copied the part of the css i previously gave you and added it in the General Options > Custom Css.
I see the sidebars are showing up ok in both languages. See screenshots:
https://postimg.cc/image/h5azobf3b/
https://postimg.cc/image/voi4psl3r/
Did you manage to fix this?Let us know.
Best regards!

Hello,
The sidebar i managed to fix, I needed to add the menu widget to sidebar blog.
Problem is still with the map in mobile view, the pins for my locations are not in the center as in main language. See screenshots in dropbox folder.
Also, new problem, the second language first page content is directly after the slider, unable to add padding. And on the map page the heading is missing. Added screenshots for clarifying.
-
Hello,
1. In the main page if you scroll down at the end of the page the pins for your locations are in the center as in main language. See screenshot of the map in main page: https://ibb.co/eWt4M7.
In the reseller page it doesn’t so please make sure you have added the same code as in the main page.2. Go on the page that you want to edit the padding and click edit page. Then add the custom css:
.full-width-content .vc_column .wpb_wrapper { padding-top: 20px; }
Set the value of padding that you like. See screenshots: https://ibb.co/m8OeM7

1. The main page has never been a problem on any language, because it uses the correct page template. All other pages on the second language uses “blog” template.
2. That does not work because of the css you edited earlier..
-
Hello,
1. I added the code below in the custom css area on the page settings
@media (max-width:480px){ .gm-style { left: -38% !important; }}
2. I added the code provided below. Now everything shows fine.
.full-width-content .vc_column .wpb_wrapper { padding-top: 20px; }
Let us know.
Best regards! -
Yes, now those problems are solved.
One minor thing left, my text block are divided into 3 columns, and in mobile view the offset on the first column from the left is not working, see below snaps: https://ibb.co/hDTvrJ
-
Hello,
Some css form the bootstrap-responsive.css file was taking over the css that gives margin to the text in columns. So i added this css in the page’s custom css box:
.vc_col-xs-offset-3 { margin-left: 25% !important; }
This is basically the css in the file, but with an !important s that it takes precedence.
Please check your site and let me know.Best regards!
-
That fixed it! Still one small problem, on a bigger monitor (1920×1080 resolution), there is white space on both sides of the map. See snap: https://ibb.co/h36LJy
-
Hello,
Please add this code as well in the page’s custom css box:
@media (min-width: 1900px){ .row-fluid .google-maps-builder-wrap { width: 106% !important; margin-left: -6% !important; } }
Change the values until you are satisfied with the result.
Let us know.Best regards!

Thank you very much for the support, but I have now decided to go for another theme, due to the fact that Specular does not support multilanguage and my needs.
Best regards!
