Revolution slider error: the param slider width should not be empty is one of the classic issues the users of Revolution Slider get.
The problem can be easily resolved so don't worry guys 🙂
The Error
In most cases after installing the dummy data, you open the first page and you see the message:
“Revolution Slider Error the param slider width should not be empty”
The Reason
Now you have to know that not all the themes have the complete “setup wizard”. I mean the process that will install the whole plugins and dummy data with a few clicks.
Themes that offer the setup wizard process or one-click installation will install all the required plugins like Slider Revolution automatically and after that, all the demo or dummy data like content or Revolution Slider slides.
Some themes that support this feature:

After finishing the installation in some cases you will see the error “Revolution slider error: the param slider width should not be empty”. When seeing such a message that means that your Slider Revolution slide isn't imported with success.
This can be caused by a theme issue or in most cases that something goes wrong with your hosting provider parameters. A lot of sliders are big in size so some hosting providers will block the importing process.
Another case of the slider revolution importing failure is the missing slider data. Not all the themes offer installation of the Slider Revolution slides automatically. So you can to import the slides manually.
The Solution
It is easy for you have to import the Slider Revolution slide manually.
First, you have to find the slider package in your theme package:
Specular WordPress Theme has a folder called slider_dummy_data where you can find all the slider revolution templates.
Let's import the sliders manually:
Step 1 – Open the Slider Revolution interface by clicking on the Slider Revolution tab in your WP-Admin. At the top of the interface are a row of large buttons. ‘Manual Import’ is the third one along.
Step 2 – Click that to bring up the Choose File dialog. Click ‘Click to choose’ to select the .zip file of the slider you wish to import.
Step 3 – Once you’ve chosen the .zip file, the import process will begin.
Step 4 – Once it’s finished uploading, you will now see your imported slider in the list of Slider Revolution sliders available.
After the slider import, you can check the results.
Sometimes the issue will persist which means that the imported slider isn't the right one because the slider name doesn't is the same as the one that was set on the theme.
You have to change the slider name in the theme configuration or find the right one.

Comments
Could you please be more specific one the hosting parameters issues you mentioned and how to resolve them?
Hello,
Most of the times the issue is caused by this PHP parameter: max_execution_time or upload_max_filesize
